A Little Downtime
Saturday, December 20, 2008 · 9:19 pm EST · Tippy
Sorry for the lack of posting guys, but I’ve been busy with some other projects and haven’t been able to run the site like I want to this season. I’ve decided to take a little downtime until I get my other sites up and running and hopefully I’ll be back after the Super Bowl. Good luck until then and I look forward to getting back to handicapping in the near future!
Happy Thanksgiving, Be Back Next Week

Time for the annual Thanksgiving trip so I’ll see you guys next week. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some plays during the week from my laptop. You guys have a good Thanksgiving and enjoy some family time.
Friday Night Winner. Good Start to the Weekend.
Saturday, November 22, 2008 · 2:00 pm EST · Tippy
The under 189 in the Charlotte-Atlanta was a winner with the final being 88-83 Atlanta. It was actually a fun bet to watch as the teams just never managed any offense at all. The pace was slow as expected with the teams running at an 89.2 pace which is well below NBA average pace. Horford was able to go for Atlanta and D.J. Augustin looked pretty good for Charlotte. The win brings the season record to 13-8 for a +3.1 unit profit. Check out the recap section for a complete look at the handicapping stats for the game.
A Busy Week

Sorry for the lack of picks the last couple of days, but the currency markets have been pretty crazy this week and the card just hasn’t offered that much to pick from. I hate it when my real job interferes with my gambling, LOL. Snow is piling up outside today, so it looks like I’m stuck inside for a weekend of basketball. Be back later today with a good pick to get the weekend started right.
0-1 Monday. Beaten on the Boards.
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 · 5:05 pm EST · Tippy
Monday’s Pick of the Day was a loser with Phoenix +1.5 at Utah. The Jazz took this one 109-97 even without Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur. Kirilenko was able to play. Utah won this game on strong rebounding with a defensive rebounding percentage advantage of 85.7% to the Suns’ 55.3%. Utah dominated the offensive glass outrebounding Phoenix 17-5 giving a Utah a 44.7%-14.3% win on the percentages. The offensive rebounds led to too many extra chances for the Jazz.
Shaq was the biggest rebounding loser with a single rebound for the entire game. Nice going Shaq.
The loss leaves us at 12-7 for the season for a +4.2 unit profit.
Ugly Card on Sunday
Monday, November 17, 2008 · 8:42 am EST · Tippy
Sometimes there just isn’t a decent game on the schedule and that was the case on Sunday. I couldn’t find a single decent bet. Only three games on the schedule for Monday, so I’ll give them a look after lunch and see if I can find a play. Be back this afternoon.
Saturday Night Winner. Nothing but Nets.
Sunday, November 16, 2008 · 11:45 am EST · Tippy
The Pick of the Day for Saturday was a winner with the Nets easily covering the +10.5. This one wasn’t even close as New Jersey won the game 119-107. Definitely one of those games you wish you had put more on or even given the moneyline a nice look. But I’ll take it as it runs the season record to 12-6 for a profit of +5.3 units.
New Jersey won this one with excellent shooting and great performances from Harris and Carter. New Jersey put up an effective field goal percentage of 63.8, which is excellent. New Jersey’s offensive rating was 124.7.
Friday Night Winner. Get to the Free Throw Line.
Saturday, November 15, 2008 · 10:08 am EST · Tippy
The Pick of the Day on Friday was Orlando +1.5. It wasn’t a pretty win, but Orlando won the game outright by a score of 102-100 moving our season record to 11-6 for a profit of 4.3 units.
Dallas had this game in the bag for most of the night, but fatigue got to them in the end. In our preview, we pointed out the fact that Dallas might be a little tired in this one from playing in Chicago the night before and that did turn out to be a deciding factor. Most of the stat categories were even except free throws where Orlando got to the line 14 more times than Dallas. In a close game, 14 extra trips will usually produce a win.
Thursday Night Loss. Poor Shooting Kills.
Friday, November 14, 2008 · 9:49 am EST · Tippy
We had the over 200 in the Dallas-Chicago game and we lost it as the game totalled only 189 with Chicago winning 98-91. So what went wrong in this one?
I had the pace prediction correct as the game was played at a pace of 95.1, which is much faster than average and also faster than both teams individual averages. The problem in this one was shooting. Dallas ended up with an effective field goal percentage of 39.1 and Chicago ended with a figure of 42.9. Both of those figures are just horrible. Dallas shot 32-87 (37%) and Chicago 35-85 (41%), both way below average. Three point shooting was also poor with Dallas going 4-15 (27%) and Chicago 3-9 (33%). I expected Dirk to have a great night but he stunk up the place going 5-17 (29%) for a nice 12 point game. Every big man that has faced Chicago has managed a great game, so I’m not sure what Dirk’s problem was last night.
You can play at a fast pace, but if you don’t hit the shots you don’t get points. The loss leaves us at 10-6 for the season for a profit of +3.3 units.
1-0 Wednesday. Lakers Rock Solid.
Thursday, November 13, 2008 · 3:10 pm EST · Tippy
While the final was Lakers 93 Hornets 86, this game was never really that close. We took the Lakers getting a point and a half but didn’t need it as the Lakers won the game outright. The Lakers led this one 51-30 at halftime and just coasted to the win. The Lakers were balanced with everyone contributing on the scoreboard. Paul and West played well for the Hornets, but the rest of the team contains some weak links. New Orleans is good, but sometimes isn’t very focused as evidenced by their earlier loss at Charlotte. That makes them a tough team to handicap most of the time.
The win takes us to 10-5 on the season for a profit of 4.4 units.
